Mikel Oyarzabal (simply “Oyarzabal”; English name: Mikel Oyarzabal), born on April 21, 1997, in Eibar, Spain, is a professional Spanish footballer who plays as a winger. He joined Real Sociedad’s youth academy at the age of 14 and has played for the club throughout his career. In 2020, he helped the team win the Copa del Rey by scoring the winning goal in the final. In 2023, he signed a contract extension through 2028 (with a release clause of €75 million), and that same year became the team’s captain. In December 2024, he reached the milestone of scoring his 100th goal for the club. Oyarzabal made his debut for the Spanish national team in 2016. He has participated in two UEFA European Championships; in the 2024 edition, he helped Spain win the title by scoring the decisive goal in the final. He was also part of the Spanish Olympic team in 2021, which finished as runners-up, and has represented the Basque Country national team, scoring on his debut.
